Honours and Awards Ceremony for Branch 13, Corner Brook

On Friday, 05 April 2024, The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 32 Bay Roberts, presented a cheque in the amount of $250.00 to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA. (L – R) Branch President, Comrade Harold Brown and Brittany Szues representing the SPCA. The donation came from the proceeds of the Friday Morning Coffee and a Chat held at the branch.


The Second World War veteran Johnny Pauls was celebrated on Saturday, March 16th as he turned 100 and marked nearly eight decades of service to the Royal Canadian Legion. In the photo below Comrade Pauls is being presented with a plaque by Provincial Command President, Comrade Gerald Budden in recognition of his 100th birthday.

In recognition of his many year’s of service to Branch 9, the Branch Veterans Room has been renamed “Uncle Johnny’s Room”. A group photo of some of those present at his celebration dinner.


On March 17, 2024 Janis Boone, 1st Vice-President of NL Provincial Command of the Royal Canadian Legion conducted the Election and Installation of Officers at Gander Branch 8.

On Friday, 15 March 2024, The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 32 Bay Roberts, presented a cheque in the amount of $400 to O’Shaughnessy House in Carbonear. Branch 34 (Ferryland) were in desperate need of a new wheelchair ramp for their building and did not have the funds, thus limiting access for some members. When Branch 36 (Mount Pearl) caught wind of this it was quickly voted in by the executive to help out our comrades with the use of our Poppy funds. After going through the proper channels we were able to present a cheque on December 27th, 2023 for $7000!

On Feb. 8th, 2024 Br.12 Grand Falls-Windsor held their AGM and installation of officers.

On Friday, 09 February 2024, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32 Bay Roberts, presented a cheque in the amount of $600 to the Helping Hand (Food Bank) in Bay Roberts. (L – R) Branch President, Comrade Harold Brown and Darlene Kearley from The Helping Hand. The donation came from $400.00 raised by the proceeds of the Friday Morning Coffee and a Chat held at the branch and $200.00 from Branch 32. Special Olympian and Clarenville Legionnaire Nick Chafe presents a cheque for $1000 from Branch 27 to Jessica Andrews of the Clarenville Special Olympic All-Stars. Nick will be representing Newfoundland and Labrador at the upcoming Special Olympics in Calgary. 


Branch 32 President Comrade Harold Brown Presents Constable Todd Hussey with a $250.00 Cheque Towards the 38th annual RCMP Wish Tree Campaign in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The donation was made from the proceeds of the Friday Morning Coffee and a Chat held at the branch.

Clarenville Branch President Comrade Bill Meadus presents a Certificate of Appreciation to Junior Peddle of Clarenville Ford. The Ford dealer was very supportive of the 2021 and 2022 fundraisers held by the branch.
